Maybe it’s still hard to believe that winter is just around the corner. You were just enjoying summer in your relatively new BMW. It was a great summer, too, and the last thing you want to think about is snow, winter driving conditions, and extremely cold temperatures.
Yet, it’s still coming.
Just because we don’t want to think about these things doesn’t mean we get a break. Winter is on its way, and even though autumn has just started, relatively recently, at least, some people are beginning to get their vehicles ready for the winter driving season ahead.
Is it time for you to do the same?
It certainly wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for you to get the fluids checked, changed, if needed, the coolant flushed and replaced with antifreeze, checking the tire pressure, adjusting the tire pressure, and possibly even changing the tires from all season to winter.
However, you could still wait a few weeks.
While you can certainly do these things now, you can also wait a few more weeks. Most people wait until sometime in November to begin having these things done for their car or truck.
Can you do this on your own?
Most people don’t have the equipment to change tires, but if you have winter tires that are already installed on spare rims, you can certainly swap out your all-season tread for those winter tires yourself, but if not, you will need to bring it into an authorized service center.
For checking and possibly replacing various fluids, including oil, coolant, transmission, and so on, an authorized BMW service center like Bimmex would be the best choice. These auto service technicians are highly trained and experienced at helping BMW owners understand how to better care for their vehicles and get them ready for each of the different driving seasons.
