When you’re looking around for a quality BMW service shop or technician, you want the best of the best.
As such, you want a quality technician who has a great deal of experience working on BMWs. While many BMWs may have the same components of other vehicles, they also have certain components that are quite unique to the brand.
Here are three characteristics you should consider looking for in a BMW service center and/or technician.
Characteristic #1: A quality reputation.
Today, thanks to the Internet and online review sites, you can look up just about any company and even auto technicians to see what previous customers and clients have to say about them.
Read the reviews. Focus on the reviews that seem to have been written by actual clients rather than someone who was paid for by the company. If it says nothing but rosy things, look for specifics. What about the experience was great? Was it their personality? Was it how fast they finished the job? Was it the quality of the work?
Characteristic #2: Knowledge.
You can have a service technician who is 20 or 21 years old and just out of technical school and they probably have a lot of knowledge. However, true knowledge comes from years of experience.
So why not just list experience?
A person who works on vehicles most of their life may not have the right knowledge and experience to work on BMWs. It may seem a subtle thing, but you want to focus on somebody who has worked on BMWs and studied them for years, preferably their entire career.
Characteristic #3: Personable.
If you have questions, you should feel comfortable asking them. The quality BMW service technician should be more than willing and able to answer any and all questions you have about your BMW, the service, and any other factors related to your vehicle.
If the technician seems standoffish, too busy to bother with you, or anything like that, it’s time to look elsewhere.
