The 5 Most Common Excuses People Make to Delay Auto Service

3 Excuses other BMW Owners Have Used to Not Bring Their Car in for Regular ServicingIf you own a BMW, you want to make sure it runs optimally for as long as possible. You’ve made a significant investment in this precision automobile, but if you’re like some other people and have a tendency to wait on getting work done on it, that’s not a good idea.

There are many excuses people have to avoid getting auto service work done on their vehicle, but that usually only leads to greater expenses later on. Here are the five most common excuses people make and if you find yourself making any of them, reevaluate the situation and contact an experienced and professional auto service center today.

Excuse #1: I don’t have the time right now. Yes, people are incredibly busy today, but that’s no excuse to avoid having work done on their vehicle. Many auto service centers can offer loaner vehicles so there is really no lost time getting the work done.

Excuse #2: It’s not a major problem right now. Just because the check engine light went on or the maintenance light illuminated, and you don’t hear any problems or feel any difference in performance doesn’t mean it’s not something important. There are many components to an optimally running car that you won’t ever hear about. If the check engine light went on, it’s a major problem.

Excuse #3: I don’t have the money right now. Thinking about the prospect of spending $1,000 or more on auto repair is usually enough to cause anyone to delay it as long as possible. Even replacing the brakes can cost several hundred dollars, or even more depending on the vehicle. If you don’t invest in the proper repairs right now, it will more than likely cost you two or three times that later on.

Excuse #4: I had a bad experience at the previous auto technician. There are many auto service centers throughout Toronto and if you had a bad experience at one, that doesn’t mean you’re going to have another bad experience somewhere else.

Excuse #5: I have a second vehicle; I don’t need this one right now. The longer your vehicle sits without being used, the more it gets exposed to potential problems in the future. It’s always best to address problems as they arise rather than putting them off, even if you have a secondary backup vehicle.
